Golden Machine, 2014 A large golden parabola sits strapped to the foredeck of a lone yacht floating hundreds of kilometres from land in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. The disc forms a part of a solar extruder apparatus, a machine designed on the one hand to process and re-purpose plastic fished from the great oceanic gyres, on the other to challenge manufacturing typologies, re-imagine and re-interpret craft in the modern age and ultimately to inspire and capture the essence of the quest, a journey, an adventure, outside of our everyday, into the unknown. Project Produced in collaboration with Studio Swine Special thanks to Pangea Expeditions and the crew of the Research vessel 'Sea Dragon' .
